Volume 2. A couple of quick notes. Dont try to take the nib off of a Parker 75 feed, you'll only end up snapping the feed. Also the Parker 45 segment somehow got replaced with a 2nd copy of the Parker 75 bit, sorry. Have fun & enjoy!! [URL=https://s276.photobucket.com/albums/kk28/vintagedel...

I got an unusual Faber-Castell on eBay. It looks like a button fill Rapidograph with a hard rubber blind cap and rubber dome jewel. It is marked "Made in Germany". Anyway, I cleaned it up and got out the feed and nib to look into the ink system. It appears like it unscrews an internal sac nippl...

Inkograph nib weight

I'm a new member and what first brought me to the forum was to talk to people who have solved this problem. I bought a large model hard rubber Inkograph in sad shape and began rebuilding. I replaced the ink sac with a #20, freed up everything and Noodled it up. It writes fine, but when I turn the pen with the n...

Making an ebonite feed by hand
(Preview)
Has anyone had experience making an ebonite feed by hand -- that is without a lathe? Any advice would be appreciated. I'm contemplating fashioning feeds from ebonite to see if I can improve upon the ebonite feeds in a number of eyedropper pens I have -- the object being to prevent burping.

Is Danco silicone grease a bad idea?

It was the only stuff they had at Ace Hardware. I understand that if it is not 100% silicone that I don't want it, but I don't see ingredients anywhere.

ink stain on section above nib and feed.

I was wondering if there was a way to remove the ink stain that is right above the nib on the section. Â It is in there pretty good and didn't know if buffing with some simichrome would do the trick, or if there are in fact other ways to remove this ink stain. Â Thanks guys. Â Frank, Denis, how the heck are you gu...

If one is thinking about repairing fountain pens
(Preview)
where does one start? Are there required videos, websites, books? I've seen a few mentioned here, but I don't know where to begin! I'm interested in acquiring some vintage pens to tinker with. I've only ever used cartridge or converter pens, so this world of levers and vacuum sacks is alien to me.

Bleeding Ink
(Preview)
Bought a Noodler's Ahab a few months ago and it is a good pen for the price but it has a nasty habit of leaking into the cap when it has been used for about a day and the ink has dropped 6mm [1/4"] in the reservoir. I wouldn't have bothered with that too much as its a $20 pen but now my favourite Montegrappa...

working with putty now

Just want to share some useful links. I bought two vintage pens in so-so shape -- nothing that a good polishing and re-sacing wouldn't fix. But after closer inspection, I found they had some deep scratches in them. There was no way to just polish off the scratches so I did some research and decided to t...
