Opinions??
(Preview)
www.esterbrookpen.com Any opinions on this "Reboot" of the Esterbrook company?? So far, it looks like custom kit pens with the Estie script logo... The other companies that have restarted in the last couple of years have at least made tribute pens that resemble the old models! Fran...

And I love it! You convinced me Frank! Just bid on an Estie mechanical pencil without knowing what kind of lead it takes. Guess I must research that.

Ebay Catch!!
(Preview)
My "Sumgai" story for the week! I won a two pen lot on the bay this week- a Sheaffer Craftsman, and an Estie Trans J pen in black. When the pens arrived yesterday, I was really pleased to find a "toaster" jewel up top, and a 2314B nib! I got both pens for $25!!

Looking for Estie bits
(Preview)
I am looking for old, broken and unwanted Esterbrook bits for my Frankenpen experiments.? I started learning pen repair a while back but because of my location (in the middle of nowhere) I have had trouble getting old, unwanted and broken bits to play with and experiment with. I know that things like j...

Estie noob - some questions: loose j bar, split nib and replacing pen cap jewel
(Preview)
So I picked up 3 Estie pens: 1 transition and 2 J's and I have some questions that?I am hoping some you more expreienced people may shed some light on. One one of my j pens, the nib is a 2668. Compared to the other two (one is a 9668 and the other a 1550), the 2688 doesn't feel as good. It's more scratchy and some...

Hello all. I am new to this great forum.? I have used a red SJ double jewel pen for the last 10 years, which is very precious to me.? Recently, the cap wont stay on.? There is only 1mm or so where the thread catches on, then it "clicks" through and comes off again.? I am not describing this well, bu...

Instant Dip-Less pen
(Preview)
Well, sorta ... Improved version (required me to make a 9/32"-36 tap): It works, too: I'm wondering, though, when BIC started gluing the but end caps into their pens; I always remembered them as being soft polyethylene and easily removable. -- Edited by Chthulhu on Wednesday 29th of June 2011 0...

esterbrook advice
(Preview)
Hi everyone. What's a reasonable price for an esterbrook J series pen? I'm looking at restored pens in mint condition with stub and flexible nibs. I think I may end up with two 9xxx nibs (9314F or B, 9128 or 9788). When I total the amount it comes to US$118-132. Is that too much? Thanks for any help :D

Renew Point threads?

I've asked this question before and elsewhere, and have yet to get an answer. :-/ Does anyone know what the thread size and pitch are on Renew Points? I'm playing with some pen designs and would like to work them around readily-available nib units, but don't have any of these on hand. Failing that, does...

The esthetics plus the affordablity of the Esterbrook pens is a dangerous combo! I WANT THEM ALL! Or atleast.. more every time I look at them. Right now I have my eye on a nice black J with an OM nib on ebay, but I'd also like a dark (olive) green and a 'rootbeer' copper Js. How rare are they? I'd like, for thos...

Loose J-model Clip

All -- I managed to score of couple of J models with AAA logos on the barrel (I'm a sucker for that kinda thing, pics in a couple of days) -- sadly, both are a bit rougher than described on the auction site, but the prices were low enough that I don't feel misused . . . . Both have cap jewels that are raised enoug...
