Trying to id a Waterman fountain pen. This is the nib section it has a rubber hood. The nib reads 18kt #3 France, the cap reads lamine or double, the clip is a typical 40's clip with a globe.

It's a mid 1940's French made Crusader. It's related to the US Taperite models of the same vintage. The US Crusader models had an open nib & the same rounded section. Their caps however were lightweight aluminum with bright engraved bands. I'm guessing this was a slightly higher end gold filled/plated cap model. The engraved lines on the cap are even similar to the US Taperite wide band models. Nice pen all around IMHO. Nice find.

Being an avid Waterman collector and user you assume the role of a detective. Thank you for your help. The pen was made in France by JiF Waterman, production was ceased during the war. Resumed shortly after the war.They produced some lovely designs during that period. The pen in question a Duo 7. It takes a glass cartridge, now the challenge is to find one.

Are you sure this the style w/ the glass cart.? I thought this one would have the covered sac protector w/ the flag/door for filling.

Yes to best of my knowledge yes. The rubber hood is designed to hold the glass cartridge securely in place. It took a bit of research. Obscure article from richrds pen from 2009 had picture and described it in full.
