Askewed Nib

I have a vintage pen that still writes. The brand is unknown. The nib is askewed some to one side. How difficult is it to realign the nib? Is this a job for someone versed in repairs?

Depending on the construction of the pen, several special tools may be needed in order to remove and reseat the nib. If it's a very old pen, there's a possibility of breaking the feed and/or section even if the proper tools are used.

If it writes well and the nib isn't loose, I'd leave it alone until that changes.

I agree with Mike. If you are brave, you might try applying some gentle heat to loosen things up. If it writes, though, best not to ruin a good thing.

Knowing what model of pen is important.

If you can get some pics of the pen & nib I can walk you through the repair.

No worries on that!
Do you have a flickr or Photobucket account?
You can paste it, or insert the link in a reply.

you can use either of those or you can upload straight from your PC. Click reply~advanced options. In the message field, type your message, then below the message field is an attach files box. Click that, a window will open, click browse, find your pic(s) & double click. then hit upload, then submit post and your done. It takes less time to do than it took to type or read the instructions.
