agreed. I have a steampunk pen drawn up. Its seriously cool. We haven't done any of the engraving/decorative work on the outsides yet, we are waiting on full production to start for that. I've seen examples of his other fine engraving/detail work & it's spectacular.

On which? The steampunk?

Honestly I havent decided yet. It's going to be a very complicated pen to manufacture so until I sit down and physically work it up with Arnie it's going to be behind the curtain.

We took a huge step forward on the Savage Pen Co. Journals today.

I had a someone lined up to make my owners journals, but they started off with crazy talk & then got strange. I had to walk away. Sort of like my first machinist.

I hope the second choice for these pays off like Arnie did. I should have just gone with a company & not a private individual in the first place.

Nothing is in stone yet, but things are looking very good. The family that I'm looking at to make these is the oldest company in their town and is also the oldest family-owned and operated business in their state. I know their products well (as do many of you here) and they are top shelf all the way. Their paper LOVES fountain pens & is going to make an excellent journal. Then Joe P & family are going to cover them in their leather with my logo/info stamped/tooled into the leather.

I'll know more in a week when samples arrive (not that I need them to know the stuff is good...lol) & another 2 or 3 before the order is placed if all is good to go at that point.

OK enough playing around for me, time to get back to work.

The fella thats building my display/storage box (Dave) just stopped by to pick up a few things. We had an awesome talk! I loved everything I heard & saw. No one will believe their eyes when the box is unveiled.

I just got off the phone with Dave. My storage/display box prototype is finished!! I'll be getting pics from him later tonight. I can't wait to see it. This is the most unique and completely amazing display box ever crafted for the pen world...and thats not me boasting. It's simple fact baby!

I couldn't pull my finances together quick enough to make it this year, so the company debut will be in Chicago this coming april/may.

I've been talking up this storage/display box for weeks. It's base 12" x 13 1/2" & assembled it's 16" tall.

It holds 16 pens, a 7x9" journal 2 bottles of ink and one of my neolithic knives.

This is the mock up & is made of lesser woods & plexi glass. The finished piece is made of oak, other american hard woods and beveled glass.











There are assembly instructions in the journal. Not that they are really needed, this is all pretty straight forward, but it never hurts.







This last pic is one I got before the shelf support was modified. The case sits on the lid when fully assembled.
