weirdfaceI am not sure if this is pre 80's so I was hesitant to put it on here. The pen writes very well, nice and smooth with no skipping that I have experienced. The only pens that I have written with that write better, in my opinion are the Waterman Carene and the Waterman Charleston. It is a piston fill pen and the attachment that screws the piston in and out has broken. Could someone possibly tell me where I might get one.

Thanks

Never hesitate to post around here. We're glad you did in fact.

On to your question.

To be 100% honest I'm not sure I've heard of a Bugatti before. But an versed in general piston fillers. Do you have any pics. Has the shaft of the piston itself broken or did the trun knob come off/break? Have you worked on piston fillers before?

Welcome to TFPC!

Dennis

I actually have the pen apart now, it was very easy to get apart and it is very easy to put back together as well. I do have some pics of it but I am not sure how to put them up on this sight though. I was sent here by Dennis and decided to check it out. Until about 4 months ago I didn't write with fountain pens, since that time I have collected about thirty, ranging from different ages. My oldest being either my Brooks or my Wearever. Beautiful pens though. In fact I just bought a 14k nib for the Wearever from Dennis. If you could tell me how to get this picture up on the sight I will post it.

am using a mac so it looks as thought I am not going to be able to post it.  I will have to e-mail the pic to people that want to see it.  I don't have the internet explorer so I can't see the attachment button.  What a pitty. LOL

I know less than nothing about macs. If you email me a pic, I can post it for you?

My email is vintagedelights01@gmail.com or penman0924@aol.com.

This one totally slipped my mind. Sorry bud. From the pics you sent it looks like the turn knob simply popped off the end of the piston. If you use some epoxy or similar adhesive on the connection point I'm willing to bet that'll cure the problem.

Nice pic there bud!smile  Actually the twist mechanism broke into three different pieces.  Don't even know where to start looking for this part.    Don't know if the average part will fit in it or what I don't know.

By the way, before I forget.  What is a good polish to use on old pens and what should I use to polish tarnished metal and nibs.  What should I use to clean nibs, anykind.?  Thanks bud.

Yikes. 3 places huh. I hate to say it but it sounds like an organ donor now. Trying to source the part for that one will probably be alot more headache than it's worth.

I have used Simichrome exclusively for more than 10 years. It cleans and polishes everything. It does a superb job & It will only run you about $10 or so for a tube.
