I am thinking about purchasing a new Kaweco AL Sport Aluminum Fountain Pen. I think it is a sharp, compact pen which is said to develop a natural patina over time, and naturally develop some scratches and smudges from wear and tear. More or less an everyday pen that your not afraid to beat around.
My concern is based on the nib. I have read different reviews on line that vary between poor to great. Some say the nibs have flow issues, and scratchiness, resulting in them re-tuning the nib. To a layman who just wants to open the box and have a good writing experience this is not an option.
Other reviews state it writes consistently well, smooth and wet.
I would hope that if purchased new it wouldn't require finding someone to fine tune the nib? I was hoping someone could give me some insights and their opinion on the nib and pen overall. I am looking to order one with a medium nib.
