Tactile Turn Mover

I just received my Mover (http://www.tactileturn.com/store/black-anodized-aluminum-pens) from Tactile Turn (http://www.tactileturn.com/), and for the most part am very pleased with it. The finish is good, the Schmidt-made silent clicker works beautifully (and should be kept greased for longevity!), the pocket clip is firm and smooth, and the joint between the barrel and cap is barely visible.

The only major flaw I see in this pen is the threaded join between the barrel and the cap: the threads in the cap are set well in from the open end, allowing only two turns of engagement with the threads on the barrel, and that engagement is quite loose:

That's how much it sags just before the threads disengage while unscrewing the barrel. I've sent a query to Will Hodges about the issue, but have not yet had a reply.

I've installed a trimmed uni JetStream 1.0 mm blue-black refill, and it's a delight to write with. Being mostly aluminum, it's not much heavier than a stainless steel Parker Jotter, and is a barely notable weight in my shirt pocket.

Also I've read complaints that the "clicker" gets gritty-feeling after awhile, both on the Mover and Shaker, and on the Karas Kustoms Retrakt.

Turning the refill spring over may make the "grittiness" go away. The wider end of the spring belongs against the refill.

No response from Will Hodges to my Web-contact-form query from Thursday. I've followed up with a direct e-mail, and had no reply to that yet, either. It's difficult being patient sometimes.

I finally heard from Will Hodges today, and he assures me this is normal for all Movers except the titanium ones. I'll just be gentle with it.

A recommended reversible mod for the Mover:

I found a piece of plastic tubing (probably salvaged from an old refill) that fits firmly over the end of the knock pin. I pushed it on until it rested against the retaining ring, then trimmed it flush with the end of the pin. It adds enough diameter to the end of the pin to eliminate the need to plug refills with aluminum foil as suggested by Will Hodges. The tubing can be pulled or cut off if you want to disassemble the knock mechanism for cleaning and lubrication. If you want to do this, just make sure first that the tubing will fit through the threads into the pen's cap.
