Just received one of these (Century style in "lustrous chrome") with a refill in place that had a mangled tip. I don't yet know whether the current Selectip refills will fit, but have a couple of them, and a couple of original Soft Tip refills, on the way.
In the meantime, a short spring at the tip end and a 1/2" piece of 1/4" or 6 mm tubing in the barrel lets a Sheaffer ballpoint refill drop right in. Trim that piece of tubing a bit, and a Parker refill, or a Fisher with the Parker adapter, should also fit. I'll report on the Selectip vs. Soft Tip compatibility when I receive the refills.

In a fit of boredom, I pulled the badly-damaged tip out of the soft tip refill, and replaced it with a tip from a dried-out rollerball refill. Then I drilled a hole in the refill's end plug and fed about six drops of water into it. A day later, and the refill is working nicely, though as a rollerball.
Not really anything to show: just grab the plastic tip (I used a hemostat) and pull, likewise with the metal rollerball tip, then shove the rb tip into the soft tip refill.
