I went Saturday- The DC Show never disappoints! Traffic was another story! There was an accident around the belt entrance on both Friday and Saturday (I also encountered another one in the same vicinity coming back up to 95 Saturday evening!), so that caused the arrival time to be longer than expected! I am 150 miles away in the Philly region, so normally this run is about 2.5 hours. It took me more than three- I did hear that it took much longer on Friday!

Anyway, on to the pen stuff!! I am going going to give a quick summary on things that I observed. I went with a mission to pick up parts and supplies for projects, but I did manage to pick up a pen! I took care of my Lamy Safari barrel problem (see my post about the plastic "yellowing" on my Vista model!) by buying another pen!
I got an Al-Star in Ocean Blue for $20 from Joel Hamilton- it was an "inked-once" type of pen on consignment! It has a bold nib, and now I can interchange my medium section from my Safari with this pen!
If anyone has a Safari Vista Barrel to sell, let me know!

I also got parts from the "parts guy" at the DC show (sometimes other shows)- Rich Lott! Rich is always at DC, and has a great variety of both Sheaffer, and Parker spares/parts!

There were many repair setups at this year's show, aside from the known repair people! More vendors seem to be providing this service to customers! Let us know if you have any experiences with repair people/nib tuners who may not be among the "better known" repair experts!! I did see Richard/Ron/Mike-It-right/Pen Brown doing there thing!

Edison Pens (Brian/Andrea) were there with new items including two new filling systems- one is a pneumatic filler ("TD" style), and the other is a pump style (Think "Vac") filler reminiscent of the Parker vacs from the 1940's. Good stuff and great editions to the Edison line! Check out the video "Behind the Scenes" at the Edison website if you have not already! (Stay tuned for more exciting news here regarding Edison Pens!)

Eversharp Pen Company is back, alive and well, thanks to Syd "Wahlnut" Saperstein! It was great to see the full line of the new Eversharp pens! Most of them are modeled after the "Skyline" models from the 1940's!
There are Demos, as well as all aluminum models to choose from! My favorite is the "Stealth" model, which is all black-including the nib!

The show did seem more "lively" than last year! You should get to the DC show at least once!

Just back from the 2014 DC Show! The weather was good going down the rte95 corridor, and traffic was good! I did the 160 mile trip from the philly region in about 3 hours.
The show appeared to have more vendors- There are more people out in the lobby area than previous years! It may be time for a new venue if more rooms cannot be provided!

I got some parts from Richard Lott (The Parts man), and I saw most of the usual "Pen Pals"! I got the nib on my 1937 Parkette tuned by James Baer (framebaer), and was very happy with the work! I recommend him for nib work highly! Other nib tuners included Richard, Deb Kinney, and the nib expert from Sailor Pens.(Sorry I forgot his name!) Repair people included Ron Z, Indy-Pen-Dance, and the nib people mentioned. (Sorry if I left anyone out!)

Always a great show! I reccomend making every effort to get to one in the future!
