I just picked this on up on eBay, in its case, in an outer paper box. Marked "laminato oro 750" which is either "18K gold plated" or "18K rolled gold." The logo on the paper box is a displayed eagle above "LALEX" which seems to be an older logo, as the modern one is a balance/scale. I've learned that "LALEX" is a combination initials of the founder, Leopoldo Aquila (hence the eagle in the old logo), and "Lex" for "Law" (hence the balance in the new logo). I have been unable to find a working Web site or e-mail contact for Lalex 1938, but I'm hoping to pin down when this ballpoint may have been made, and what it's name is if it has one. From the styling and the design of the refill, I'm guessing mid-1950s.
Oh, it still writes, though faintly, a very nice blue.
Edit: I found one reference to Lalex having ceased operations in 2010, but only one. It would explain the "parked" status of both the lalex1938.com and aquilabrands.com Web sites, though. :-/
