HisNibs.com update -- Baoer, Cotyer & piston converter for the Pilot 78G
November 26th, 2012

Greetings all,

Introducing the Baoer Sonata, which is an homage to the Parker Sonnet -- at a small fraction of the cost.

Also introducing the Cotyer MB series, which bears more than a passing resemblance to the classic profile of certain German and Japanese pens!

After many requests, we're now carrying a piston converter for the ever-popular Pilot 78G pens.

As this newsletter goes out to a mailing list of thousands of customers (July marked our 15th year of business), please understand if there's a delay in answering your email queries or orders after one of these is sent. We will respond in order received and as soon as possible!

Join us on our Facebook HisNibs.com fan page which can be reached directly at www.facebook.com/hisnibs1. Come join us for what has become a lively meeting place for news about pens, ink and handwriting.

Baoer Sonata series

I'm going to start my description of the Baoer Sonata by comparing it to another pen -- the Parker Sonnet -- to which it pays homage. The Parker Sonnet has been a very popular fountain pen model, available in a myriad of finishes, for close to two decades now. Cotyer MB series

The Cotyer MB is an oversized, lacquer-over-brass fountain pen that takes its overall appearance from both Montblanc and Pilot pens. Measuring 5-1/2" capped, 6-1/2" posted and 5" with cap held aside, it's a solid, classic-looking writer.

Bob Dylan´s HAND LETTERING EXPERIENCE

Bob Dylan is often credited with creating the first music video, back in the 60's, when he filmed the lyrics -- using oversized flashcards -- for his song 'Subterranean Homesick Blues"

Now the artist Leandro Senna has recreated those cards with unique and intricate hand-lettered ones.

See the video of his efforts in the November 24th blog entry, linked below.
