The Sheaffer Prelude is a workhorse ballpoint pen I like and admire. The Prelude has a semi-cigar shape that just appeals to me, plus a balance and weight that is quite comfortable for much of my daily writing. The finishes I have are nothing fancy, but for everyday writing, I really don't look at the pen's color. I have a black matte, stainless/gold, black/gold lacquer, 2 palladium/black, USA-era Preludes, plus a cranberry matte finish Chinese Prelude. I prefer the US pens when I get them, but the cranberry PRC model works almost as well. The black/gold pen is one I gave to my Dad many years ago, and was given back upon his death. That is my favorite Prelude, for obvious reasons.
Only downside is the Sheaffer brand BP refills. They write ok, but not as nice as some of my Cross bp pens do. Since I'm cheap, I'll use them until they run out, then get some Monteverdes or other brand.
I also have 4 Prelude FPs in the Fine/Medium nib size, with a copper/gold being my most used.
Here's a recent Prelude purchase of mine, one of the black/palladium BPs mentioned above...

In addition to the Prelude above, I also have 3 Sentinel ballpoints that are shown here. At center is a semi-vintage Japanese, the chrome/red barrel model at left is modern and made in China. The third on the right is a NOS brushed chrome USA model. A contemporary of Parker's Jotter, the Sentinel is somewhat less graceful, but IMHO still a good looking pen with a smooth push button actuation. Sheaffer refills, however, can be improved upon...

I have to shoot photos of my Reminder Clip (I don't use it much, so I don't remember the model w/o looking at the sticker.) to show you. I've only got one of those, and it's a lower-end model.
I've got one Targa, which I have shot, uploaded below.
All of my Sheaffers have stock Sheaffer refills in. Even though they are less than perfect writers, I'm waaay too cheap to toss them away until they run out. That might take a while...I've got a few other pens to show!

For appearance, I like the old Stylist BP and MP, but they only seem to work with the old "winged" refills, of which I have exactly two that still write. :-/
I haven't seen a late model Sentinel pencil in anything but 0.5, but if i find a 0.9 mm set, I'll probably grab it. I prefer the old 1.1 mm/0.046 in pencils, anyway.
Sorry, but I haven't seen the pencils online anywhere. The .05 lead sizes were probably not as popular, and the larger sizes sold out first. Maybe get a set from Overstock.com and keep the other pen as a backup (Note: I'm obsessive about keeping multiple backups of the pens I really like.)
BTW: I've got a new Prelude BP on its way...Copper w/gold trim to match the FP I have.

Although I couldn't make it fit, I knew I'd have to try. Now I'm telling all of you, I will never buy....
