HisNibs.com update -- Monteverde and Conklin add stub nibs!
October 6th, 2011

Greetings,

I'm very happy to announce that both Monteverde and Conklin now offer a stub nib for the majority of
their pen models. Most of my personal favorite writers have stub nibs on them, and I'm excited about now being able to offer the same on some of my favorite pen designs.

The great Pilot 78G is now back-in-stock. All colors, all nib sizes.

Join us on our Facebook fan page. Facebook has recently simplified addressing for business pages, so we can now be reached directly at www.facebook.com/hisnibs1. Come join us for what has become a lively meeting place for news about pens, ink and handwriting.

Monteverde and Conklin add stub nibs!

Enter my favorite nib...the stub!...and why I'm so happy to see it's addition to the Monteverde and Conklin line-up. In simple terms, a stub is an italic nib with smooth, rounded edges. Hence, you achieve the beautiful, 'shaded' writing of an italic/calligraphy nib, but with the speed, smoothness and comfort of a conventional nib.

The Monteverde/Conklin stub nibs are 1.1 mm across, which is generally considered to be in the medium range.

Although I've tested the nibs -- and you'll find a video about them by following the link below -- I won't have them in stock on pens until the end of next week. You can order your Monteverde or Conklin pens now with the stub nib installed, or if you'd like to purchase a stub for one that you already have, you can order that as well. They're $24.00 each.

Pilot 78G back in stock

"Just as a further note about the M 78G I'd just like to report how soooooo smooth it writes!!! It quite definitely has the best "feel" of any of my FP's (cheap & not so cheap included)."
A. H., United Kingdom

"Hi Norman, I received the pen this morning [with an 'F' nib]. What a pleasant way to start the day! The pen is wonderful and I already have spent the last two hours writing with it. It writes very smooth and it suits me very well as far as the grip size and the weight is concerned. Thanks a lot. It is a real delight. I am really enjoying it."
S. S., France

"I have been using your pilot pen for over a year; and, because of its lightness, smoothness and lack of fussiness, find it excellent for endurance writing. It is also great for sketching. A workhorse!"
R. C., Denver, CO

"Hi Norman, I want to let you know that the pens arrived and I have found both to be wonderful writers, each in its own way. The M nib is like butter--so incredibly smooth. I have +200 dollar pens that can't come close. The B nib is like a slender calligraphy pen (as your web page description indicates) and is a ton of fun to play around with. Both have perfect ink flow, and both feel really good in my hand. Thank you very much. I have been a Pilot/Namiki fan for years, and it is nice to learn that their somewhat more basic models are constructed to the same high standards (though I am sure your nib tweaking helped)."
E. W., Chicago, IL

Those Pilot 78G pens are great if you take that filling mechanism out and use it at a eye dropper.  I have three, and they write better than most of my more expensive pens.  I have never had one that was haard to start.  I love these pens.
