I am hoping someone here can offer me some advice. I have a fountain pen that is not any kind of valuable or vintage pen, but has a lot of sentimental value to me (an inscribed 21st birthday gift from my grandmother). Recently I have not been able to use it, as whenever I write with it, the nib (the ubiquitous 'Iridium point Germany', which I take to understand as 'Made in China') seems to slide up over the feed, into the pen, so the botton point of the feed is right down to the nib, which obstructs writing. Short of gluing the nib into place on the feed, I am not sure what to try! Any suggestions? Thanks!
Welcome, Emily! Can you show us an image or two of your pen, especially the nib, feed, and section? *Something* there has failed, and knowing what the pen is may help us determine what did.
Remove the section, pull the nib and feed out. Soak & clean all 3 parts very well. Then reset the nib/feed. If you don't know how. Use 'stickied' the repair video at the top of the page. While it's apart, get a loupe and check the section for cracks. If this doesnt solve the problem, let me know & I'll see what I can do for you.
