The seller dated it 1949 but said he couldn't find a model number for it anywhere.

I've started to keep a database of my pens while I don't have a lot yet so I'm fussing over details such as approximate dates and model numbers. I also like the idea that I'm walking around with an antique on my person--something that is older than me biggrin

The seller could be wrong!! It happens. It appears to me just about every post war pen is numbered with 4 digits.
