Is it possible to repair a cartridge converter?
Permalink Closed

I have a nice Picasso pen, which I would like to give to my daughter to use as a school pen. The converter that came with it does not hold ink. It does not suck up much ink and as soon as it is removed from the bottle the ink runs out. None of my other converters fit this pen. It is some sort of odd size and when I gave it to her to try, the short international ink cartridge I put in cracked at the hole end. The converter that came with it looks very nice, but it has virtually no neck and a chrome ring around it and is quite different looking to others I have. I have been unable to find another one like it, so I was wondering if it was possible to seal it, say with silicon grease or some such.   Thanks

Check with Todd at ISellPens.com ( http://www.isellpens.com/picasso.html ). He sells the French/Chinese Picasso pens, and may know which converter will fit properly. From the one fuzzy image of a Picasso converter on the linked page, a Parker may fit.

If the top of the converter unscrews from its barrel, you may be able to grease the piston and screw for a temporary seal.

It does unscrew. I was not sure if I should be geasing the inside of a converter, but after reading this, I have tried, and it does not really work. It slowed down the leakage a bit. So I have written to Isellpens to see if they can sell me a converter for it. It is a shame that the pen should not be used, because it is in every other way a really good school pen for a girl. The pen is numbered #PS-903 on that page, just in case their different models have different converters.
