pilot bulb filler

somebody had talked about turning a cart into a bulb filler.
i did it.
had a cart that came with my pilot c742, and had a sac that came with the free esterbrook (with epoxy jewel/no clip) that was too small.
so i cut the end off the cart and shellacked it, and put the sac over it. let it dry for an hour or so b/c there's lots of shellac.

to fill it, i enter nib into ink, squeeze a bit, pull it out, tip it nib up, squeeze, slowly tip it back into ink, release to fill a bit more. i do this two or three times for a 'full' fill. it's about the same capacity as what the cart would normally hold, but no bothering with my syringe!
Resized to 64% (was 850 x 299) - Click image to enlargePosted Image

i say mediocre success b/c after filled up it will leak a tiny bit with the nib down. maybe since i removed the breather tube....
biggrinbiggrin

but while writing at a good pace, or drawing, or whatever, it seems to do fine. only been using it a few minutes, so we'll see...

yay!
