Okay, then, I speak my mind. Not only I am thrown away from FPN for nothing, I am also accused in something I never did. It really hurts. And I read those FPN messages - dizzypen posted a link - where all people are so thankful to their FPN lords... Nevermind. Slaves are slaves...

My mind is bitter right now. But it's good bitter. Dark chocolate bitter!

Now, I am really going to work on my documentary project "Welcome to FPN!" And I will have a very interesting point of view there...

What are they going to do to me? Kill me?

Okay. I am ready to die. Go get me, FPN admins. Bring your own nails and a cross. I am fine with that.

Sorry, if i am bitter. Life is not always sweet...

I think that they started chasing me after I attempted to contact Kurt on his banned FPN profile. I left a note on his profile, and sent him a PM. Fortunately, their stupid actions helped me to find him.

Wow! That sounds interesting! Who else wants to talk to me about FPN? I am going to use my cheap camera, I don't have to wait for fancy-shmancy Scarlet.

Rita don't let the blind FPN supporters get you down.  It was very predictable that the hardcore FPN supporters would immediately accuse the banned members of FPN of instigating this attack.  This is just pathetic.

Offbase-Rita was not happy about the people who had their computers infected.  She does feel that there was some measure of karma in the attack on FPN in relations to the admins.  She has every right to feel that way given the circumstances.  I'm not going to air dirty laundry but the FPN admins are human.  They are not perfect and are fallible.   There was a time I might have felt as you but I have seen first hand the darker side of FPN.  This is not just in relation to Rita but others as well.

FPN is still a great site full with cool people and some great resources.  That is why I still go to FPN.  When there, I obey their rules because it is their house.  But once you have seen the darker side, it is hard to see FPN in the same light.  Away from FPN, they need to understand that their rules and their views do not necessarily apply.

It's always interesting to read about these stories. Honestly, I never saw anything I would consider as bad or "dark" at FPN. I like FPN. I was sent a PM once when I was trying to presents facts about my famous Yellow Lamy stained by BSB, and the essence of their comments was that the objectivity of my findings was being lost in my emotional rant.

When I read what they said, I actually saw for myself that they were right, and I voluntarily removed those comments, and thanked them. So anything I have seen personally I have to say has been handled in a fair, mature manner.

I also know that it takes a lot of time and work to moderate a forum if you want to keep it "family friendly" and while that can be seen as "heavy handed," it also makes it a more pleasant community which is also a nice break from the every day drama of life. As others have said, a private forum is owned by someone, and just like when you visit someone at their home, there are rules and decorum that need to be followed.

I really like Rita, and the free spirit she shows, even enough to come here and discover another FP Community which is very cool. I do think that with some "tincture of time," that Rita's bitterness will diminish, and my sweetheart friend will be able to see FPN in a more balanced light. I'm sure it doesn't help just having lost her job, but friends like me will always be there to support you. I said several times that with Rita leaving FPN, it felt to me like a color was taken out of the rainbow...but I may have a wider tolerance for controversy.

So it is possible to love and enjoy FPN, and thank them for getting their free website forum back online (which does take real work, time, money, and expertise) because it is a network and resource for many people to connect and contribute to each other. I do not believe it is fair to blame them for a hacker/malware attack, or for it being put on your PC/Mac as a result, nor should anyone jump to blaming a former member unless there is clear proof of that.

We all need to run firewalls/router, anti-virus, anti-spyware programs, and regular backups to protect ourselves. Any website, at any time can become the target of hacker/cracker groups. They fit in many categories from young children to nations/socio-economic-religious-polital groups sponsoring hacking for their own reasons.

Other's misfortunes? Do you guys know that FPN infested my two computers with their spyware and then broke into my Facebook account?

It's not anybody's else virus they are talking about, it's their own activity. They throw away people for no reason and then become paranoid that someone can sue them for it. They are a non-profit organization that accepts donations, and there are some rules that they supposed to follow. But they obviously don't.

You are so naive, people...

Go ahead and ban me from here. But I still be telling the truth.

I know they've had hacking issues more than once, but they intentionally gave you spyware and "broke in" to your Facebook account???  Do they serve crack-frosted flakes in Silicon Valley?

For God's sake, it's a pen site. Rita, I have nothing against you, and I have no reason to blindly defend the FPN. And I'm hardly naive.

But, I always thought they were actually very lenient with you. Every thread you posted in started to turn into some kind of virtual sex thread, at times getting very explicit. It doesn't bother me, since I'm hardly a prude, but there are people who are offended by things like that. And, every other post ending with, "Are you trying to seduce me?" in response to comments about pens?

I dunno, call me naive, then, but logic leads me to brush off your allegations of intentional pc attacks and account hacking.

Do you really think, guys, I am able to pull out something like THAT?

WOW! I am starting liking the way you think about me...

We are just casting our shadows. And it's okay with me. I like shadows. They are fun to stare at. Actually, we need some shadow to stare at... That's how we can truly see ourselves.

Rita, the FPN shadow...

BOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rotten to the core,

Most honest people nowadays are so because they haven't had the opportunity to be otherwise no

OK. I am not such a pessimistic guy, but I see every day people cheating somehow. It might be different abroad.

Rgds.

You have good and bad people everywhere. Shit happens but does this mean that everyone has bad intentions? I don't think so but of course it always a good thing to be on your guards in order not to fell in a trap.

I doubt that offbase will post here ever again unless FPN is put under 'attack'.  There seem to be a group of members from that site who patrol other pen-boards to make sure the  white castle stays clean.

Actually it most likely was more of a personal cleaning of Rita's facebook page.  I don't think it is possible for another person to delete posts but some of Rita's that discussed FPN went missing.  Maybe paranoia or more of a wet squad trying to remove all traces.

Wrongo, Kurt.  I actually think it's healthy and best for the hobby to have several boards going.  I don't think it's very healthy or productive to have all these personal issues somehow arising out of the use or collection of pens.

I don't know your specifics, nor Rita's (nor do I feel it's any of my business), but I just can't imagine how posting and socializing on a pen board has led in some cases to such venom, animosity and hurt feelings.

In the real world, I'm in two cut-throat professions in a cut-throat environment.  I've been screwed over worse than you can possibly imagine -- in the real world and with major consequences to my real world life, no less -- yet I realize that dwelling on it, or even actually GETTING revenge, seldom does anything to actually HELP you.  What's my point with this?  Well, if I have no interest in screwing over those who have actually screwed ME, why in the hell would I care to take on what you perceive to be FPN's "battle" with you and Rita?

Quite honestly, I really don't give a damn about it either way.  What I don't want to see is most users' enjoyment of our hobby being diminished because of a few individuals' personal vendettas.  Honestly, what pen enthusiasts really want to deal with crap that has absolutely nothing to do with the hobby?

P.S. I have no interest in "White Castles." I usually start regretting such indulgences about three hours thereafter. ;)

Guys,

We are not going to screw each other, right?

We are just trying to understand. I don't really understand a lot of things, because all I see are just some disjointed patterns of facts that can be re-iterpreted in multiple ways. I am trying to explain them, and the only things that I see that my attemps to put the secret story of FPN together ends up in some weird punishment. Like there is something dark that they want to hide.

Obviously, I don't know all the details of Kurt's story.

Offbase, probably, have no idea about my story.

And for some reason, we are not able to even discuss it.

My problems with FPN started with one thread, "What happened to IANAN?" (Even here, I am recommended not to use that name. It's a fake name, anyway, why can't I use it?)
And it ended with the thread "Banned moderator." I think that's where all touchy subjects are. And I want to know the details. Why not?

Curiosity killed the cat. But I am not a cat. Where can I learn more about the details? Like some people might have downloaded the threads that disappeared?

The truth will set us free. I want to know it.

Rita
