PayPal issue

Hi all,

I have been wandering within eBay a couple of times in the last months. I was sometimes looking for a Parker 180 (got a couple of them locally already), Lambrou's books, and a few other things.

As my PayPal account has been inactive for some time, and I still feel reluctant to use it sometimes, I usually leave a question to the seller asking him/her(/ithmm) whether MoneyGram or Western Union would be acceptable or not. I have stumbled with the fact that most of them don't do so confuse.

Now the question: Why do most of them reject just cash in hand in favor of PayPal? Is there any advantage (for the seller) of PayPal over cash in advance? Western Union takes their percentage from the sender, so this wouldn't be an issue, as PayPal gets from both.

Anything I am not aware of?

Rgds.

Martin

Convenience, most likely. My son has been having a problem with PayPal repeatedly trying to take the same amount out of his bank account every few days in spite of the fact that the transaction had been cancelled, and a credit card used to complete it. PayPal's history shows the transaction cancelled and nothing happening since, yet they keep trying to withdraw the funds from our bank!
