Ballpoint pen refills are available from a variety of manufacturers - including aftermarket OEM makers. When one goes to buy ballpoint pens, it is important to keep in mind the type of refill or ink that should be purchased down the road; after the initial ink has all but dried up.

Yes, there are many good generic refills out there!
Office Depot has their own line of FORAY refills that fit most modern pens.
Many are half the price of the brand's refills!

Very true.  I have declined to purchase several ball points because the price of the refills was just insane.

It is a writing instrument with an internal ink reservoir and a sphere for a point. There are two basic types of ball point pens: disposable and refillable.
