Like the color Brian!

I have seen/tested the bulb fillers at some pen shows.
They are tremendous! A window would have been cool in the middle of the barrel.
This is what you usually do, but the customer probably preferred a solid barrel.

Beautiful nonetheless!

That is a great looking pen.

Frank - I know nothing about the construction of pens etc but could a window be placed where the thread for the cap is, giving a solid colour pen when closed?

Good point Roger!

I'm sure it can be, but that answer is best left to our pen-turners here!

Nikon Coolpix 5600.  I'm not a great photographer, by any means.  My brother is - he visited once, tuned my setup, and I haven't touched it.

Not really.  If the ink window existed where the threads are, it wouldn't really function, as the ink never gets there.  The section screws into that area.

An ink window could be hidden if the cap overlapped the barrel, and also extended long enough to cover it.  But as you can see - this design calls for the cap to be flush, making this impossible.

It could happen with other designs, though.

Thanks.

Longer cap, threads recessed, reduced OD area aft of the threads on the barrel? It would also put the cap/barrel line more to the middle of the pen ...

If it were just below the threads and the cap had recessed threads then it could be hidden.  There doesn't need to be more than a thin window to be able to estimate the amount of ink left in the pen.

Think there are several Visconti pens that have taken this configuration.

Really really nice.  Every time I look you just keep pushing the bar higher and higher.

You keep us all going lol

Still not sure how you attach the breathing tube so that it fills up complete.  Any that I have used a pump on I have to keep turning the pen up to get the air out and then back into the ink again to get a complete fill.
