Another option might be Wyoming Elk sheds, usually found rather sun-bleached though unless collected rather freshly shed. I had a custom Buck Hunter folding knife made many years ago @ the old Buck Custom Shop, made-to-order from Wyoming Elk sheds/nickel silver bolsters/Damascus blade. Apparently there's tons of Elk sheds in Wyoming, the stuff on my knife collected by Wyoming Boy Scouts no less, it's out there and a great material to use. That may indeed be a better option than deer racks, at least I think it would be far more readily available. Just a thought...
