I travel a lot on business, both in the US and International, and until now have stayed with roller ball pens when I fly both because I don't want a mess in my Glaser briefcase after a long flight and also because I need far more than one fill of ink for a typical trip. I use a Waterman Carene, which I love, and have several but right now they are just for office or home, never on the road. What I would like is to find a sturdy, leak proof and good looking device to carry my ink along with me so that I can fly with my pens safely dry in my briefcase and then when I arrive get them filled and go to work. I am not comfortable with any of the currently available glass bottles of ink (I like Waterman and Parker) as they either look to be too fragile or the caps are not sufficient to withstand the high and low pressures of a normal international flight. Any medium sized bottle that would have a good seal and wide mouth would probably work but I thought Id check in here before I look elsewhere. Thanks!

..Gently points to the awesome Carene in the 'I'm sellin" forum, then wonders why your not taking them out of the house?
IMHO, these are nearly perfect for travel. Very low maintenance, dead on reliable, good size, weight. Not to mention the eye catching aesthetic appeal and overall awesome this pen wears.
My copper carene is ALWAYS at hand either here on the workbench or safely tucked away in my 4 pen case when I'm out & about in the world.

Well the topic of my above post tells the story... I take a LOT of notes at meetings and was reluctant to take bottles of ink with me with flimsy plastic or rigid caps that I figured would either leak all over my briefcase or maybe get taken by TSA guys at the airport. So I used the Carene rollerball (the best of all rollerballs IMHO) but it just wasnt the same.
You are 100% right about the Carene. Its beautiful, balanced and yet a solid reliable workhorse. I am going to try both the Visconti Traveling Inkwell and also the 2 OZ leak proof Nalgene bottles and see what works best. I actually cant wait for the next trip to bring along my favorite!
On the blue Carene you have for sale, I'm interested (maybe send a picture to conditionyellow@hotmail.com) but I have a Carene fountain pen, pencil and roller ball in Abyss Blue that I love (bought when I lived in Hong Kong in 1996) but I am looking for a Carene medium fountain pen in coral orange. I have the rollerball but kick myself for not getting the fountain pen years ago! You wouldn't happen to have one of those for sale would you?
