Now, as you can see, on the photographs the pen looks like totally black. But in the auction text the guy says:
"Baile pen e fatta di verde bosco Lucite" that - typing errors aside - means more or less "Nice pen, made by Wood Green Lucite"
(Bosco is really woods, like "a lot of trees", more than wood, "the stuff that burn" ;) )
Ok, now, what do you think, can the pen in the photo be dark green and the light on the photo be just lousy? Or the guy cannot tell one color from the other?? And I'll get a boring black P51?????
IMHO, in the top pic, near the taper on the barrel end, the reflection looks like it has a dark green hue to it. The pics sort of suck & a green pen would come off very dark in those. if he says green go with it until it lands there. Looks like a nice piece to be sure.

Argentine colours were not always identical to the ones on other origins (US, Canada, ...).
Ariel Kullock still sells "P51 like" pens. He is reputed to have a device that duplicates. He still sells P51 DJ Vacs, and outside plastic parts (specially useful if you have nib, collector, cap, ...) in weird colours (egg yellow) in eBay. I don't know if they have "Parker" imprints anywhere. As I am not sure I am being clear enough, here is the link to his eBay articles: http://shop.ebay.com/kullock/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686 (no affiliation, just someone else that lives in Buenos Aires).

Thank you Scott, that was a good laugh. Anyway even the original description is a very poor Italian. Lots of grammatical errors. I wonder why people selling items on ebay do not pay attention to the easiest things.
btw: recorded idiot is great. It should have been "engraved with"
kullock is using the old machines that Parker left behind when they closed down their Argentinean production facilities. o technically, they are the same things, made onthe same machines, with different manufacturers names on them. Good buy regardless, but looks legit to me.

I can't reject what you are saying, as I don't know him personally, and haven't had any e-mail intercourse with him regarding this issue.
You are right: If he uses the same machines, process, materials, etc. he will get the same product quality.
BTW: I don't know of any 51 Vac or 51 DJ Vac made in Argentina, so he might have had access to tooling from somewhere else. Or some of these tools were available here for a reason I am not aware of.
Rgds.

Parker Pen had manufacturing facilities in Argentina.
Yes, I know. I live here. There have been local manufactured 61 Aeros,51 Aeros, 45s, maybe some Vectors, might be some 180s, and probably some others I am not aware of. But Ariel is offering models I am almost certain they haven't been manufatured locally (I may be wrong too, of course), and he is supposedly being using the same tooling Parker had here.
BTW: There were also local brands (303, Perfecta, ...) and Sheaffer facilities too, but if my memory serves me well, none of them have been as large as Parker here.
Rgds.

Buaaaahh.... the darn thing is BLACK!!!! (and has a ding on cap too...!)
I contacted the seller for a refund/return. We will see...
Interesting fact: There is a spanish translation of the filling instruction on the filler and the cap read: Industria Argentina under the halo logo. The barrel is the early Aero barrel with an hole at the back. Dunno why but I did expect a later barrel with the half way hole...

Man that really blows! It was a bad pic & only had the sellers description to go on. It looked to me like it had a green hue to it. If it makes you feel any better I'd have gotten stung the same way.

The jewels are pearly silvery grey. I have NEVER seen or heard of a green jewel. The only 'non pearl' jewels are aluminum and a beautiful honey amber color.
Take this clown to the mattresses. I hate to see people getting hit like this.
