Quality Control and Service

Hello there Community!
A friend asked my opinion of Delta and Monteverde products.  I have not purchased either brand in a long time and thus would appreciate learning about your experience.  How's the service if there is a problem?  What about repairs--how long of a turnaround time?  Done right the first time?  Thanks for your assistance.

Pimin,

I am (was) actually quite pleased with my experience with YAFA customer service (surprised even!). I did not expect prompt, free service from them, but I got it!

This was about a year ago; I wrote about it on the other board, but did not think to put it here. Anyway, this was with a Borghini RB pen that uses standard cartridges. I love these types of pens- rollerball convenience with FP ink! I had two of them, but lost one. This one stopped working. I bought these from Parkville Pens about two years ago.

I called YAFA (Parent company-Yahoo search), and explained that I had a YAFA RB where the feed stopped working. I was instructed to mail the pen to them. About two weeks later, I had my pen back with a new feed/tip section on it!

This setup is similar to the "Mega Ball" that they market under Monteverde. These YAFA/Borghini models are smaller, but work the same way. I now realize why Monteverde includes replacement tips in those fancy boxes. It is because these tips only last about a year with daily use. Even the one that "grew legs" was on its' way out! It's nice to know that YAFA is willing to replace these tips though!!

I own two other Monteverde pens, no problem with them. I have no Delta pens, I do have a Pelikan RB that also accepts FP carts. This came from Pendemonium a year or two ago. This is good to keep in mind if you like RB pens! I like both myself, and it's good to be able to use your favorite PR inks with these pens!
