HisNibs.com update --
Piston demonstrators
September 12th, 2008

Hello all,

NOTE: As can be seen by the date above, this was the
email update sent out to my newsletter subscribers
before we left for the New York pen show. So, my
apologies for the tardiness of those reading it now, and
to my subcribers if they've already received this directly
and are now reading it on this forum.

(Deleted info on *upcoming* NY pen show)

A number of months ago I was presented with a really
neat piston filler pen from
Pakistan, made by Dollar Industries. They're available
both as a solid color (with ink viewing window) and as
a demonstrator . It took me
several months, but I now have an importation
channel to bring in these pens in quantity. I think you'll
be impressed.

Private Reserve inks are now available in a larger,
110 ml (3.72oz) bottle, in all colors except for the three
Fast Dry inks.

Also newly in stock are the Pilot 78G
pens with the BB stub/italic nibs!

Cats have always been the most popular subject for
Lai Yee's pen rolls, and she has two new ones up on
her webpage.

One of my customers has used a number of pens
purchased from His Nibs, as well as rocks and
lavender, as the subject of a series of
photos. Take a look below, and on her Picasa
page, for the neat results.

Dollar brand piston fillers

No, the pens don't cost you a dollar -- sorry. Dollar
Industries was founded in 1954 in Karachi, Pakistan
and today is one of the leading manufacturers of
writing instruments and stationery in Asia. Their
products are exported to more than 50 countries, but
their pens are just becoming known here in the U. S. I
originally became aware of the neat piston fillers on
this page a number of months ago, and have spent
that time arranging to import them in quantity. Due to
the continually rising costs of importation I may have
to raise the price of these in a future order, but for now
I wanted to introduce them at a super-affordable price.

Private Reserve ink larger bottles

Presenting the new 110 ml bottle from Private reserve
(the original size is 50 ml). These are great for
stocking up with your favorite colors.

Pilot 78G 'BB' nib

The Pilot 78G has been one of the most
popular pen models we've ever
carried. Just read a few of the customer comments on
its webpage, linked below.

The 'B' stub/italic nib has been especially sought-after
over the years. I'd long know of the existence of a 'BB'
stub/italic nib for the pen, but my regular suppliers
were never able to obtain it, until now (well, the week
of 9/15/08 actually!). smile.gif

I've been using one for about a week now, and it's
become one of my real 'go to' pens. The shading and
line variation it provides to my writing is really terrific.
These are approximately half-again as wide as the B
nibs (sorry, no exact measurements yet, but I'm
guessing about 1.2mm). Feel free to reserve one now
and we'll ship as soon
as the order arrives next week!

The photo shows, from L to R, the F, M, B & BB nibs.
Excuse the ink on the nibs...they're working pens! smile.gif

Fancy Cat pen rolls

Of all the patterns of pen rolls that Lai Yee has
produced over the years, our feline friends always
prove most popular.

Lai Yee found a new pattern called Fancy
Cat, in two
colors, but in very limited quantity.

On the blog...Dolphin bubble rings

My September 8th blog entry has a spectacular video
of dolphins creating rings of bubbles for play and
amusement....of both themselves and apparently their
human observers.
