My wife Venus was poking around in my parts bins and came up with a Black Conway Stewart 58 cap/clip/bushing & a Mottled Red & Black Flat Top barrel, section & feed. (unknown model number)
The first thing I did was go to the nib drawer & found a swet semiflex medium/broad & got the front end set up the way I like it. Turned my atention to the cap. The 58 bushing that screws down into the top of the cap & holds the clip in place has a peaked bushing. This just wont do. Knwing these are handy to have around i went looking for a replacement. Found it in a Sr. Parker Duofold Bushing. Much more common & fit well enough. The parker bushing is a flat top so it matched the barrel much beter but has an 'overhang' on the clip/cap because it's a much wider part.
Set up the poor mans lathe, cordless drill/sandpaper, & turned the bushing down to theright size. Looks great & am very happy with it. Venus gave it a good buff, polish & some carnuba wax. Looks like a million bucks now.
Thye pics really suck, I forgot to set the light meeter. I'll snap more when the camera comes home. A friend borrowed it a few minutes ago & I had to fast snap these before he left. But you can get the general impression.
