Thats spectacular!

I've come across some superb vintage English flex nibs before & that one looks like it could be in the top 5 sweetest nibs of all time. Man thats just fantastic!

What model is it?

Start off by seeing if there is an imprint on the barrel side. Often the model name is stamped there.

Ya' know, if you ever decide you'd like to let that one ride off in to the sunset. Give it my address & tell it to stop by.

Nice flex!

Looks like it is a safety pen?

Nope, not a safety. No trun knob at the end of the barrel. i'm willing to bet it's an eye dropper filler.

I once oned one of theses pens. They are terrific writers! The flex is great and they write every time. I sold it because it was a hassle to take to the office, and I was afraid it would break...

Forgot to add: the filling system is rather vulnerable. You can't simply empty the pen (too often) because this breaks the seals.

There are a couple of places where the model number is stamped. This one looks like it is the 5000, 6000 or 8000 model. The majority were either eye droppers or plunger fillers and were quite sturdy pens.

KEITH!!

It's fantastic to see you here my friend! I really hope your feeling OK.

Is there an online reference for these anywhere? I've always been a fan but just don't know much of anything about them.

That really is a cool looking pen, I have no idea which model but I don't see "Patent Self-Filling" marked.
Is it an eye-dropper filler?
It's pens such as this that keep me interested in fountain pens, having modern ones that fit my needs but few older "historical" pieces.
I've been trying to find out more about this particular pen and have come up short so far.

It sure looks like an ED to me. That nib looks like it's got more flex than gumby hiding in it too. I think we need an English pen expert to come on board and educate us on these. I personally don't know english/european pens very well at all & would love to know more.
