I was stalking the back alleys of ebay & stumbled across a very nice & clean Hunter Gren Parker 45 (ss cap gold clip). Sweet medium steel semiflex nib. a sheaffer school pen, 40's advertising pencil & a little gold filled wahl ring top.
I've always had a soft spot for these little ring top ladies pens. One of the first couple of dozen pens I ever restored for myself was one of these. I still remember how well it wrote & how flexible the nib was. I've found these to be one of the many overlooked pens in our hobby. It's a very well made pen, from one of the big 4 us manufacturers & the nibs are always top notch, weather they are rigid, semi, full or super flex. If you keep your eyes open, you can often score these in the $20-30 range unrestored. Add $25 -30 or so for a good restored one with a rigid, semi & moderatly flexible nib. $75 and up for VERY good condition or a special nib.
This little lady that stopped by my shop, is in wonderful condition. It's got the typical ring of brassing on the end of the barrel from being posted. Thats sad to see, but acceptable, because to use the pen it has to be posted & it's hidden when it's capped. There is also a ring on the barrel near the nib from the cap lip rubbing. Also a common issue. One VERY shallow ding just north of the engraved indica. E.D.G. It all sounds much worse than it really is.
The sleeper bit of this pen is hidden in the nib. When I saw the auction I knew the nib would have some decent flex to it but I NEVER could have guessed this was hiding in there. It's a wet fine line with no pressure and flexes to 5 broad. It's simply unbelieveable.
Heres a quick shot off the dirty shop keyboard.
Can I get an OH YEAH! Dennis

I was blown away when I first put it to paper. My friend Ryan & his wife were both suitably impressed with it at dinner last night as well. I ley Ryan try it but being a lefty he couldn't get much flex out of it. When I hit the flex and went all out his eyes all but bugged out of his head...lol.

Yeah, that's pretty much what went off in my head too.
The pattern is one of the common check & lines patterns you find on these. I've seen a couple of styles, but couldn't give you any info to save my life right now. 3AM=tired Dennis.
Just remembered PenHero.com. Jim M as always has an awesome article on the Wahl metal pens & ptterns.
Jim if you ever read this. Thanks for all of your hard work and amazing site. I've learned a lot form reading it over & over throughout the past several years.

Dennis is right...that Wahl is seriously nuts. Kara even got a little googley-eyed. I'm searching for one in sterling silver right now, thanks to that thing.
