Invisible Vintage Fountain Pen #3

~~ From the auction description~~

I've gotten a lot of emails asking when I was going to host another mystery pen auction. The first one was a lot of fun & generated a lot of interesting talk on a couple of FP message Boards. Well gang, I think it's time for yet another one.

For those of you who missed this the first couple of times, I'll leave the opening write up from the first time around so you know whats going on in this auction.

"Ok, I'm going to try something very different in this auction, I'm just curious to see if there are any adventurous souls crazy enough to try this. The way this one works is, your bidding blind on a quality, vintage, restored and write ready fountain pen of my choosing.  For the benefit of those who don't know, bidding blind in this case means you don't know what the pen is until you open the package. Personally I would love to see another seller do this, I'd really dig opening up a mystery pen package. I know a lot of you are skeptical, but look at my feedback and past sales. I offer up great vintage fountain pens that my buyers seem to love. "

Past Mystery pens

#1: Sheaffer Snorkel Sentinel

#2: 3 Waterman 3V's

#3 (this auction) Even more awesome than the first 2.

 What you are bidding on:

This time around you are bidding on 1 pen vintage fountain pens from the mid 1950's. The pen is in the range of 4 7/8" to 5 3/4" capped and 5/16" to 9/16" od at the cap lip. I can't give the exact size or it could give away what it is. This model is notorious for having a pair of specific cracking problems. Neither of which this pen has.

I've only had it for a short time, but It's performed flawlessly in that time. The color scheme is a 'silver' toned cap & bright red barrel. The fact that the medium nib (flow of 5/10) isn't 14K does not matter in the slightest in this case. What I will say is the Arabic style nib (2:1 line ratio. medium line ^/v Broad line </>) I reground is simply awesome. An Arabic style nib has a wider left/right stroke than the up/down stroke. Sort of a reverse Italic/Stub.

I also can't tell you what sort of filling system it has or again it will give away who the manufacturer is, in turn giving a HUGE clue to what this model is.

All I can ask is for you to take me at my word when I say this is a wonderful writing, classic pen in a fairly uncommon color. These guys are dead on reliable & have a huge fan/user base.

I promise you, my loyal bidders, I won't stick you with a crappy No Name School pen w/ a dried up cartridge, a sub 4th tier ultra junker or a desk pen and no base...(that would just suck). You WILL get a great classic vintage fountain pen from one of the "Big 4" US manufacturers.

After the auction closes I will post a thread on my FP message board
http://thefountainpencommunity.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=111780 in the EBAY forum. With a description & pics of the pen.

I've already told the winner wht the pen is so I'll go ahead & post the pics & info.

This lucky bidder just snagged a sweet mid 1950's Rage Red Parker 21 Super with a custom Arabic style nib. It looks MUCH better in person than it does in the pics.

The spots on the cap & shell only show up in the pics. Can't see them up close.
