They sound great, Andy.  I've never seen South Seas Blue in the 'flesh'; I only rely on my monitor to pick samples on various websites, but it does seem very nice indeed...and obviously a favourite of yours.

I'm still limited to my standard Parker Blue-Black and Montblanc Blue-Black at the moment, although I did buy a Washable Royal Blue Parker last week.  I filled up the Vacumatic and immediately gave away the bottle.  It was a pathetic washed-out colour mad.gif.  I haven't used that colour since 6th grade in 1975, so I'd obviously forgotten how bad it was.  I'm going to invest in some of these nice inks you all talk about, from the States.

Meanwhile, currently I have a Waterman's 52 and Sheaffer Crest lever fill  number1.gif(thanks Dennis - Invisible #4) and my Montblanc Chopin on the go.  I'll do another rotation soon; although I'll find it hard to put the Crest in the drawer! hmm.gif

I might get around to trying one of those cheaper pens one day.  In the meantime, the Pen Stork just delivered a parcel to me this morning.  Inside, a beautiful blue-grey striped Duofold vacumatic fill.  No, it's not from Dennis' auction, but similar.  I bought it from Peter Ford at Melbourne Vintage Pens.

It writes like a dream.  Has a Fine nib but is more on the medium side of fine - just the way I like 'em.  Anyway, here are a couple of pics if you wish to see it. Apologies in advance for the photo quality.  Check out the link to Peter's site where I first saw it - the website photo is what it looks like in real life.

The photos are a bit dark, but the pen has no cracks, bites etc and there is no brassing anywhere on it. Nice barrel transparency too! wink

Michael is a great guy to work with & always has top shelf goodies. Beautiful pen indeed. What size/model is it? Whats the date code on the barrel say?

I'm a noobie, only got Pleikan Royal Blue and Brilliant black.

I picked up a box of Easties/and parts and some Wearevers....I learned if it's a case lot, and they don't show the nib...on an Eastie, it ain't got one.no

Of the inherited pens that sat in a drawer for fifteen years, 8, that started my "collection", most need smoothing and what not. Seven were Piston fillers, none a Pelikan.
They were giving away Pelikans one day, so I bought what I didn't need.biggrin

Osmia-Farber-Castell (1949-52)in fine.

A pelikan 1990's 400 in Medium.

Esterbrook Double J in gray with a Broad 2968.

An Osminiod with an italic BB

A Pelikan 605 in BB that will be Binderized for Christmas into a cursive italic.

Unfortunately, I only have two other pens that are 100%, both mediums. disbelief

I am going ot have a great deal of "fun" finding out what widths the Wearevers I have will be.evileye

The Easties will also get different nibs, from flexible to stiff to see how they react to this and that brand of ink, when I become a guru.

Out side of two red Easties, and a snake green Easty cap I'm good to go on the amount of pens a man needs. Just under 30.

I don't have a pen problem, I can quit any time I want.smile

You know I don't have a yellow pen.

don't have a Parker 51.
don't have a Schaeffer Schnorkle

No I don't have no problem with pens. I gave up single malt for my liver, you know.
No, I'm a noobie, how can I have a problem with pens.hmm

In Rotation:

-Pelikan M200 Grey Marble Bold (90's) w/Blue-Black Mix
-Sheaffer Cartridge Demo 305 nib- BB Cart
-Pilot 78G Med w/Red-Black Mix
-Reform Demo FP Italic (per Brian Grey)with Diamine Jet Black Cart

The Reform started as a medium, nib started to misbehave (about 3 years),
Brian "tuned" it for me at the Philly Pen Show back in January.

Brian (Edison Pens) is actually really good at nib "tuning"!

I'm back at school, so I tend to use "workhorses" this time of year!

Well for the first time in a long time I have only three inked.
1. My beloved Lamy 2000 with Waterman Havana ink. This pen is always inked.
2. Lamy Vista with Lamy Blue/Black ink
3. Cross Apogee with Cross Black ink
Have to go now and ink my new Lamy Studio, oh bliss!
