Delta price increase coming
March 24th, 2008

Due in large measure to the falling dollar
and rising fuel prices, YAFA (Delta's U.S.
distributor) has informed me that all Delta
pens will increase in price on April 1st. As
YAFA will be doing physical inventory from
the 27th of March on, any orders for Delta
pens that I don't have in stock (most of
them!), need to be placed and paid for with
me by Wednesday the 26th.

I still have a small supply of the limited
edition Israel 60th Anniversary pens in
stock. I'll mention the limited edition
numbers a bit further on in this email, but
if you email me an order, please give me your
numbers in order of preference, as your first
or second choice may have already sold out by
the time I receive your email. Once my stock
has been depleted, I may still be able
to order for you through YAFA, but you will
then receive a random limited edition number.

I still have some stock of the latest
Monteverde Mega version...the White &
Gold...which is proving to be extremely
popular (white is an often overlooked 'color'
by many manufacturers). The limited edition
Nabu version of the Mega (those that
are hand-painted inside the barrel) are
nearly sold out. I'll also list the numbers
that I currently have in stock below.

Acquire a Delta...before the price increase



As many of you know, Delta's flagship pen is
the Dolcevita (the 'sweet life' in Italian).
There are a number of versions of the
Dolcevita: the Mini, the Stout, the Medium,
the Oversized, the Soiree, the Papillon, the
Desk Set...even a version of the 'Lucky
http://www.hisnibs.com/we.htm pen.
One thing they all have in common is the
brilliant terracotta orange resin used in
their construction.

I thought it would be fun to show some
comparison photos of the Mini next to the
Oversized.



The Mini is distinctive for its diminutive
size of course, but it's also notable for
being a cartridge-only pen (it's too small to
accommodate a converter for bottled ink).



The Oversized, in addition to its
can't-fail-to-be-noticed physical presence,
has that rare distinction of being designed
to fill with a cartridge...from a bottle with
a screw-in converter...or as an
eyedropper pen, by filling its barrel!

Whatever Dolcevita fits you best, you owe it
to yourself to enjoy the sweet life -- before
the price goes up.

On the March 19th entries for the weblog,
there are two 'canine' videos of a sort. One
deals with an invention to keep your pooch
happy all day. The other...well, let's just
say that if DARPA gave you $10 million to
create a robot 'dog'....this is what you
might come up with!
