Long story short I sent off a solid 18k gold Aurora that had broken clean in two back to the factory in Italy for repair. I then learned that those fine folks get the whole month of August off. Well, my pen arrived yesterday at my front door. The pictures include a few more than just the 750 GL.
I really like Aurora pens. They're a distant second to Sheaffer in my collecting world but they're alone in second. The first picture has my two GLs. That stands for Gran Lux or Grand Luxury. These are their solid gold series. The one on the left is a 333GL (8ct gold) and the other a 750GL (18ct gold). The size of the 750 is rather slim. It's kind of like using a slim Targa but not as slim (Slim Targa at cap opening .336, 750GL .382)
The design or etching on the 750 is very cool. Even though those folks in Italy took their own sweet time getting it back to me they certainly did an awesome joy refurbing it. I got a brand new piston filler unit for my trouble and the gold was completely buffed out. The one pictured is from my 333 as they sealed the new one to the barrel. I'm assuming that's how the other one was when new also.
The far right Aurora is an 888. This is even thicker than the 88P (pen #3 and similar) but is a cartridge / converter filler.

You have a nice collection of Auroras, Pete. I never saw before the 750GL (btw GL is for a more italian "Gran Lusso"). Quite interesting pen. I did not get well: is the 750 a Piston Fill Riserva Magica like the 98GL (the 333GL)? The clip design is peculiar.
