HisNibs.com update --Dollar pens -- but maybe not what you're thinking!

After being unavailable for several years, His Nibs is very happy to once
again be able to offer the Pilot i717 piston-filler fountain pens. These are
available in both Demonstrator and solid-color models with ink-view windows.
I've always charged $15.00 for these great little pens, but through June
10th, I'm offering them with a special reintroduction sale price of only
$10.00! Please see my video on filling these pens from 2008 here
http://youtu.be/L5X4KWYm6A8 (I apologize for the poor audio quality back
then!) or go directly to the webpage http://www.hisnibs.com/dollar.htm to
read and see more about these pens.

I've often spoken about how the Prima is probably my favorite model from
Monteverde. Well, after several colors/patterns were retired recently, we
have two new ones to offer you: Black/Yellow and Purple/White. Read more
below, or go directly to the page here http://www.hisnibs.com/prima.htm.

The 55%-off clearance sale continues! I've added some Monteverde Invincia
Stylus ballpoints, Delta Fusion 82 rollerballs as well as some Stipula
Etruria Rainbow Limited Edition transparent ballpoints. These are all new,
old stock pens, and can be found at our clearance page

These are all mint, single items --and about 55%-off of retail, so the first
"I want it" email (mailto:orders@hisnibs.com) gets it, and I'll try to keep
the webpage updated with 'sold out' labels as frequently as possible.

As this newsletter goes out to a mailing list of thousands of customers,
please understand if there's a delay in answering your email queries or
orders after one of these is sent. We will respond in order received and as
soon as possible!

Dollar piston-fill fountain pens return!

After an absence of a number of years, a true blast from the past! These
piston-fillers were always a steal at my long-ago price of $15.00, but as a
special reintroduction sale, I'm offering them for $10.00 through June 10th.

Below are a few customer testimonials from years past about these terrific
little pens (many more can be read on the website).

"Hi, Norman - just to let you know the order arrived yesterday. Am
impressed by the Dollar Pens - they're attractive (as far as demonstrators
go, anyway), seem well made (no leaks yet, at any rate) and write extremely
well. The surprisingly smooth nib is fairly wet and has consistent ink
flow: no hard starting or skipping. Thanks for introducing me to them!"
S. R., Philadelphia, PA

Wow. Initial impression, VERY well made. Light, but that's practical - no
need for extra weight just to make it feel 'substantial' molding, especially
the tassie, is as good as Japanese work. Overall, its as good as the typical
German piston filler from the 1950s, actually a bit better. The only thing
that isn't perfect is the finish on the clip. A minor nit, as it is
certainly adequate and totally functional. With a little better plating,
and a slightly more substantial plastic, this could be as good as a Pelikan
400. If someone wanted to produce a vintage style piston filler, say, using
designs from the past, like the Conklin Nozac, or an Onoto K, I would bet
this company could do it. They could do a Pelikan 100, or 140 style,
single color, in a heartbeat....based on initial observation, this is very
close to at least a Pelikan 200, functionally. Again, thanks.
S. L., Arlington, VA

"I bought one of the dollar pens from Norman at the NY Pen show (it was my
first clear demonstrator)...I have to say that I have been using the clear
dollar pen piston filler with the PR ink all week and it has now become one
of my favorite pens!!! It is now a permanent part of my Day Planner and I
will be using it every day from this point on. Great piston fill - holds a
TON of ink! Beautiful smooth nib - writes great. And all at a price that you
can afford! No affiliation, blah, blah. I just had to tell everyone how much
I love my dollar pen!!!!!!! It writes as well as pens costing hundreds more
(a sad statement for those expensive manufacturers indeed!)."
J. K., Bloomfield, CT

"Dear Norman; I have received my order of these pens and to say the least, I
am absolutely amazed! These pens write better than my Pelikan; i.e., they
are not 'scratchy' writers. I have an affinity for fine or extra fine nibs
and these Dollar pens fit the bill perfectly. I have used them to fill out
paperwork for my job, write checks, and even to fill out my schedule in my
daily planner and the quality simply floors me every time I use them. I gave
one to my niece hoping it might inspire her to improve her penmanship (I
don't think it's going to work since she is perfectly content to write with
a clear Bic), but I hope she will make the attempt to improve. She always
tells me that she wishes she could write as well as I am able to, but she
doesn't understand that comes with over 40 years of practice. I will be back
for more of these as I absolutely love eyedroppers and piston fillers. Thank
you for getting such a wonderful product! And the pen roll was fantastic,
too. Finally, a place I can put my pens without scratching them. It's large
enough to hold the pens I use a lot, and yet it's small enough to fit into
my briefcase. Another happy customer! And I would also like to say that I'm
amazed at how fast they arrived! Your customer service is second to none!"
V. D., Princeton, N.C.

Monteverde Prima -- new colors

The new Black/Yellow (although I find the yellow more of a green) and the
Purple/White join the Prima family.

"Great pen. Writes smoothly and a perfect balance with or without cap
R. M., Portugal

"Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I have received my pen, it works
amazing! Filled it with Private reserve Sherwood green. I'll be buying from
you again in the future. You provide great customer service. Thanks again."
T. C., Edmonton, Canada

"I received my order yesterday and I'm delighted with my purchases. The
Monteverde Prima is a wonderful pen when fitted with the Stub nib. It is
surprisingly easy to use and I can see it becoming my pen of choice. The
finish is superb and the pen represents excellent value for money. Many
thanks, Norman, and I'll be ordering again soon !!...I'm astonished at the
variety and quality of pens available in the United States and we in the UK
are very dour by comparison."
P. W., United Kingdom

"Hi Norman. The pen arrived safely. Thanks very much for the excellent
packaging and your customized note. Truly exemplary service. The pen is
wonderful and truly great value. I look forward to ordering from you again."
J. C., Penticton, Canada
