It's been a while since my last posting, so, aside from a few cheap(er) daily use Pilots, this is one of only three new pens I've bought.
This is a 10K gold plated USA Sheaffer Prelude BP from Teri at Peyton Street Pens. The barrel pattern is apparently flawless, if a bit busy for my taste, but it still cast an irresistible "buy me" spell. Teri included a new refill, so it's ready to use. In reality, only the pattern is unique, otherwise it's just a 1990's workhorse Prelude.
I really like the Preludes, and have a number of USA-made BPs and FPs I've collected over the years before the prices started getting kind of high. I have one of the Chinese Preludes too, and while it is very well made, it is just a bit less appealing than the others.
Here are three of my Prelude "collegiate or school" FPs, made for students, if what I was told is correct.
Frank,
Money and health conspire to keep me from going to pen shows - I'd spend my return trip money completely by the first day I believe! Probably for the best that I can't be there!

Although I couldn't make it fit, I knew I'd have to try. Now I'm telling all of you, I will never buy....

Sorry to hear that Hubert! Stay healthy, strong, and get to a pen show again soon!
P.S. No Preludes this time. I was after parts, and a nib tune! Managed to get most of what I needed!

We sell quality, known brands at reasonable prices!!
The DC show is always worth the trip! You see a lot of people that you only communicate with in forums, email, and pen vendor sites!
There are nib tuners, and repair people that you normally have to wait weeks to get your work done with! You have to send your pen off in the mail, have it serviced, then wait for it to be mailed back to you- not so at a pen show! At DC, you see many that do this type of work!
A pen show is also a great way to "check out a pen" before you buy it! You get to see the pen, and how it writes to avoid getting stuck with something you may not like...
You can pick up parts/supplies/ink- and PENS!

Thanks Frank for the information next time i make sure i will visit some of the shows i always thought that i will but never got time to do so but this time will make sure that i do . Thank you frank for sharing this kind experience .
Meisterstuck pens are better than Carrera pens. Better quality, but better price as well!
Carrera pens are pretty cool- they were intended to be "entry" MB pens, and people try to get top money for them!
They were made before the "precious resin" era of Richemont Group marketing.......
YMMV, of course!
