Here are a few advertising specialty BIC Clic BPs I picked up along the way. The Clic was a serious (? - my opinion) challenger to Papermate BPs when they came out. They were pretty cheap compared to a Papermate Malibu or Parker Jotter, and somewhat attractive. The Clic had two main flaws: 1) The BIC refills were unpleasant to use, with thick, hard flowing ink that usually left an uneven line and blobs on your homework assignments. 2) The tip of the pen where the point exited the barrel was fragile plastic, and the writer usually ended up with a broken tip that left the refill point exposed and looked foolish.
Anyways, I abandoned the Clic for Malibus and Jotters, and then for Cross Century 1 BPs, followed by the wonderful world of the FP. But nostalgia struck me solidly, and I began searching for some Clics in good condition. In 2000, the company where I worked was sold, so anything that was junk was to be tossed, and only my memories of the Clic saved the following pens from the dumpster. They had dried out refills and were in the trash box, so I rescued them for my own collection.
First up are the maroon PHP Clics with gold trim. They bear the old company's name and are considered the "deluxe" version of the pens. These are made in the USA.
Secondly are the more interesting "Granite" variation of the Clic. Wearing a finish that is casually reminiscent of the hard decorative rock, these were given out as demonstrator pens that were imprinted with the logo of the client buying them in quantity. Also USA-made.
Finally, a current black Clic model made in Mexico, according to the imprint on the clip. This is the one I use most often, with a current ez-flow refill making it a much more useable writing tool.

Penmanent,
Thanks for your kind comment.
They're not rare, or beautiful, but are interesting (and very cheap) to "collect". And as part of my writing history, I do have a nostalgic remembrance of them.
