My name is Hubert (I also respond to Hugh), and am a resident of beautiful suburban central New York State here in the US.
My first real pen was (and still is) a Papermate Malibu BP from my late Mom, and I also inherited her Parker 45 FP/MP set in my teens. Dad gave me a Cross Century I BP for high school graduation, and together, these writing instruments have helped shape my entire pen collection choices, then and now.
My go-to FPs are the Sheaffer Prelude, NoNonsense and Legacy; Parker Reflex, Vector, and 45 models; Cross Townsend, Solo and Century 2000; a Bexley and a Retro 1951. About 22 in all.
My BP (includes gel and rollerball) group includes all USA-made Cross, Parker, Sheaffer models, plus Waterman, Pilot, Caran d'Ache, Faber Castell and uncounted pens by other manufacturers that grab my attention and wallet. About 350 in all.
I enjoy learning and talking about all pens, but modern-era USA-made pens are my focus, since I know and own more of those. With Fps, I rely on the expertise of more experienced and knowledgeable folks.
I have a corny sense of humor, but will use it with discretion. I believe I was the last poster standing at the now-defunct styloforum.com, (don't bother checking, it's as dead as my lawn is right now).
Looking forward to some enjoyable discussions here in the very near future.
BTW: How are photos posted here?

I've lurked here for a couple of years, and decided that I'd better join and get in on the discussion fun. I'm looking forward to some interesting conversations with everyone.

I remember that brass pen you turned on the new lathe. You should get on the Kickstarter bandwagon and get some investment capital to produce those pens!
Sounds like you're pretty busy since we last talked on Styloforum. Busy is good, right? Means you're making money.
Me? I'm still picking up an odd pen or 10 when I can. In addition to the Sheaffer Grand Connaiseur BP I posted about earlier, I just picked up my second Parker 100 BP in smoke bronze, a USA Sheaffer Sentinel, and 2 Faber-Castell Basic model BPs. Those are some pens for discussion, when i get around to them.

I started a new job in October, and haven't touched the lathe since. I *have* been "collecting" pens, though, a few fountain pens, but more ballpoints and pencils. I like the current production Sentinel ballpoint, and wish I could buy just a pencil to match the brushed chrome one I have *without* buying a set. I grabbed a matte black VFM ballpoint to match the fountain pen I bought, but it doesn't grab me the way the Sentinel does. My current EDC is a Pilot Axiom ("Coupe" everywhere but the US) in "stealth" matte black. Great size and an amazingly smooth writer!
The best writers of me recent fountain pen acquisitions are a Pilot Vanishing Point EF from Richard Binder (also a "stealth" model); a Kaweco Classic Sport Guilloche M, and a Nemosine Singularity demonstrator. The TWSBI 540 and 700 Vac are also quite good, but the first three are in the "buttery" class.
