Parker 100 Fountain Pen
Permalink Closed

I recently received a Parker 100 fountain pen a gift which came with a fine nib. this is  my nib of choice, however I noticed this tends to write more like a medium nib. I checked with the store it came from which had no extra fine, and contacted Parker customer service who told me thet are out of extra fine nibs.

Any suggestions on how or who I could turn to to try to find and extra fine nib for the100?. Not the end of the world just a preference as I could just use it the way it is.

Thanks

Harry

You might also consider having the current nib ground to your liking; from what my searches are turning up it would probably be more economical.

Hi Mike,

I hadn't thought about that, a good idea. Can you recommend someone or a place that specializes in this. I know sometimes the pen shows may have someone there that would do it but it's also a pretty crazy time

I've never had one reground, so I'm not really qualified to recommend anyone. Hang on here until Frank and DWL wake up and I'm sure they'll have excellent recommendations for you. It will also help to let us know where in the world you are; there *might* be someone within a practical driving distance of you, which would let you work much more closely with him to get the nib just the way you want it.

What? Wake Up? Who, Me?

It's my summer break, and I'll sleep in if I want!! (LOL)

I have never had any nibs ground either, but the people I know of that do it:

-Richard Binder
-"Mike it Right"
-Pendleton Brown (pb2)

All of them are at most major pen shows. All of them should be at DC in two weeks!

Too bad the Parker 100 did not succeed. However, that failure did lead me to later find good deals on the purchase two of the 100 BPs now in my collection. Those have worked well for me for a while, now.
