Savage Pens. Pricing update
Permalink Closed

I have been looking at my manufacturing costs for these pens and have determined that I originally priced them too high. I don't like price gougers & want my clients to have a great pen at a reasonable price. So I have decided to drop the price of each Savage pen to $150.

Domestic USA 1st class shipping w/ Delivery Confirmation. Free
1st class International shipping $15.
My direct email is vintagedelights01@gmail.com

Material: Black or White Delrin. A very dense and nearly impossible to stain material.
Capped Length: 6 1/2"
Posted: 7 3/4"
OD cap/Barrel: 3/4" (19mm)
Section width approx .65" (approx. 16.mm) (Can be customized to your specs. gratis)
Nib: Monotone Schmidt SS nib/feed unit in F,M or B.
Filling system: Eye dropper filler.
Ink volume: 8ML! Thats a LOT of ink gang.
Ink chamber: Medical grade Boroscilliate/PYREX glass.

"Despite the large capacity it seems a manageable size for use."

It is indeed. Everyone thats held it so far has found it a relatively lightweight & comfortable pen to use.

"I like the four pillars rather than a solid chamber surrounding the glass. I assume the pyrex is fairly unbreakable and lightweight?"

Correct, the walls are thin & dont have much mass so it's light & the Pyrex is really durable stuff.

"Did you use it to deal with the eye dropper blobbing problem?"

I did. Your hand/skin never come into contact with the vial so heat transference ~ ink blobbing isn't a problem.

"Are the "pillars" that run the length of the pen meant to be completely parallel and uniform width, or (as it appears in your pic) more free-form/naturalistic?"

On the pen in the pic, it was both, I was trying different ink window ideas. The production models have straight and uniform pillars.

"Can the section be made out of the same material as the rest of the pen?"

Sure can. I can also custom shape the section to your specs. free of charge.

"What other nibs or nib/feeds would fit in the pen? or, asked a different way, do you have a feel for the size of the nib relative to vintage nibs?

I can custom fit almost any nib, vintage or modern into these pens. This is a very large pen, so trying to fit something like a Wahl #0, while possible, may not be so practical. I'll need you to provide the nib & feed of course. There will be no up charge for the custom mounting.

Questions, comments or design ideas I'm all ears.

It should be noted that 8 ml is 11.5 short international cartridges. You know, for the metric-system-impaired folks. smile.gif

Pen #'s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 9 are gone. #'s 7, 8 and 10 remain in the first run.
