Hi, I am Rod, and I have always had a fascination for fountain pens. I still have my old Parker 51, plus several others including nice Schaeffer and Waterman pens.
About four years ago I also started making fountain pens. Things like this one in stone from Kenya, with gold and rhodium.
Hi Rod. I wish I still had my Parker 51. I used it as a dart nearly 50 years ago, never realizing how much I would prize it now. I like that Kenya soapstone too, but the world economic situation has taken its toll on me, so for now it is not possible, but I am an optimistic person.
When my daughter decided that she wanted to write with a fountain pen too, she asked me to buy her a 1946 black P51 Vacuumatic off eBay for her 16th birthday. She loves it, but I find the XF nib to be too fine. Now that she has turned 18 she is really spoiled. She only uses an FP at school and she has nicer pens than I do.
