It was great to meet more pen people I have only seen on the boards! I had the pleasure of meeting a few last year as well! This year, among a few, I got to meet Wahlnut (Syd Saperstein), and Brian (and Lisa) Anderson! I also met Sarj for the first time as well. All of them had beautiful stuff for sale!
I was at Brian Grey's table, and got to see the beautiful Urushi Pens that were created with the help of Ernest Shin. It was great to meet Ernie, and hear about his other projects! I was surprised at how young he was! It's good to know art such as this will be around for may years to come! (I will let Brian add more about Ernie, his work, and how to see it!)
I did get two more vacs repaired by Ron Zorn, including the one I nearly managed to destroy! Not really, but it was proof that the right tool can make a difference! I think I will stick my original plan to fix every make of pen except for Vacs!
I did a lot of networking with people I have already met, as well as people whom I know are members of this forum. I reminded them that we are still here, and we have grown a great deal in the last couple of years. I expect a lot more positive traffic here in the coming days!
Looking forward to next years' show!
Frank
