Parker 88 Laque GT Fountain Pen - do they stack up?

Hi I am interested in purchasing a Parker Laque or a Waterman Phileas. Any one had any experiences good or bad with these? Both around $50 but am I shelling out enough?  
Or any other reccommendation around the same money? In anticipation of any discussion and reccommendations, thanking you kindly.
