Greetings from the Frozen North
Permalink Closed

Hello Pen lovers everywhere.
I learned to write with a steel nib on a wooden stick that was dipped into a well, for which a special hole had been bored into my desk. My highest priority then was to get a high status fountain pen like a Parker 51 or a ConWay Stewart. The kids I went to school with knew the quality of your person by the pen in your hand. When I was six my rich uncle in the states sent me a Sheaffer. Since that day I have not looked back. I have quite a few pens now, some old, some new. Today even a cheap Chinese pen is cause "wow that a REAL pen". All my pens that do not need repair get used. Different ones for differnt tasks. I love to doodle with my old flexi Waterman. I do not like ball pens. They make my writing look even more untidy than it already is, and I do not get the ink color selection I need to make me happy.

1/3 nib flex and width, 1/3 ink, and one third different papers, make pens dance at midnight.

Hi Connie,
fancy seeing you in here. She loves them. She has gotten some soft wraps made of high pile material to keep them safe. She treats them like treasure and keeps them in an old laserwood box on her desk. She started to take them to school to write with, but does not trust here friends near them, so I got her a Lamy for that purpose. She has used up all her cartidges writing letters to my mother, and has acquired a lot of Herbin ink to use in them. Her hand writing has improved so much in this past 6 or 7 months. She is very very proud of those pens.

First he got into my coffee, and got an attitude on. Then he stole the keys to my gun cabinet, now he has so terrorized all the mice, they just will not come into the house anymore. Every morning he saunters in and pushes me aside to get at my Sumatra. I do not dare say "no" to him.

He has learned all his bad habits from me. I am very serious about my coffee, and so any creature that stays near me long will earn to love it too.

Oh, yeah! Your coffee influence is so strong, Scrawler, I am totally under it too. How do you do it?
