Ink Choices
Permalink Closed

Greetings,

I want to expand my ink choices. I am currently use Noodlers. I want to branch out try other brand of inks.  I am a southpaw, my needs are little different. I am looking for a faster drying ink,  one that does not smudge easily. I was thinking about J Herbin, Diamine inks. I have tryed Private Reserve and did not care for it  wrote.
Thanks

J Herbin is an awesome brand of ink. I've tried several and have yet to be disappointed. Diamine is a thicker~ish ink & is a tad slow on the dry time sometimes, but not always, being a southpaw, I think the J herbin would be a better choice for you.

Dont misunderstand, I'm not bashing Diamine, it's a fantastic ink with vibrant & rich colors, I just think in your case Herbin would work a bit better for you.

You might try The Pear Tree as they have ink samples that you can purchase for 4.99 for a pack of 4 bottles of your choice.   http://www.peartreepens.com/Fountain-Pen-Ink-Samples-p/samp.htm

I totally forgot about those. They are a GREAT way to tray a lot of stuff on the cheap. Ryan & James are excellent guys to work with.

Just be aware that herbin is a weak water color ink compared to others
