I have been wanting to make myself another white celluloid pen since I sold the last one.  I made this one clipless and made up a white leather holder for it as well.

Thank you very much.  From you that means a whole lot.
Yes it is great material but I learned that a light bulb to close to the work is not a good idea.  I will let you imagine the rest lol

Did you set some celluloid on fire?

It's a real issue.

Whenever I get a lot of celluloid swarf on my lathe, I take it by the handful, and set it ablaze outside.

I would rather just get rid of it than have a trashcan full of a highly highly flammable material.

If I had a spark on my lathe while working this stuff, it would be a nightmare.

Keep in mind that this is a solid piece.  Imagine what little wispy shavings will do!

By the way, Chris - don't you have a cracked barrel to send me?

Fire  yes a little one as the chips were in the light housing and as the bulb heated up we had some excitement.  Thank goodness I had been playing around burning all the other filings that there were none left on the lathe.  Still a kid at heart I guess lol
