The Tsuki-yo looks different on different paper types, I've found, looks best on vellum-types.
For example, it's a deep faded denim color on sugarcane bagasse, has a tiny hint of green to it on some more fibrous paper, but green tones not really noticeable until using a deep blue right next to it for comparison.
For the most part it's blue, has a nice Deep Sea blue shading to it on vellum-types like Rhodia or BN'R.
My scans are usually spot-on accurate, so I've been told, but for some reason this scan is a bit dark, looks closer to real-life when I crank up my monitor brightness.

Okay, so now that I'm using Tsuki-yo in my Estie for extensive writing, the color reminds me of Private Reserve Sonic Blue. I'm going to have to scan a real sample to make sure I'm not going crazy...

My inks arrived! No pictures today because I've only tried one of them and it's dead late over here. So pics tomorrow. I've had an ordeal tonight lmao, punctured tire (got home at 11:15pm instead of 8:20pm), details I won't bore you but suffice to say enough absurdity in the whole situation to convince you of Camus' point of view..

But I digress.

This ink, to put it simply, from first impressions is just, well: sh*t hot. Tsuki-yo is such a strange colour, especially against this lamp's light. Its this great twilight colour not sure if it's blue not sure if it's green ink. Reminds' me of a vivid memory of my childhood looking over the North Sea and just seeing crazed blotchs of vivid and vibrant blues and greens so distinct across the whole ocean. And it's nice to watch as it dries. So far I've only tried it in a F nib so it'll be interesting to see what its like in a bigger nib (can't wait!)

Your review of Tsuki-yo is wonderful, thank you so much.

I was wondering if anyone happened to have Tsuki-yo and Fuyu-Syogun and would be willing to submit a quick side by side comparison.  I am looking into buying a bottle and would love to see what they look like together.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if there will be anyone at the LA 2010 Pen show selling these?

JetPens is the US distributor and they're based out of San Jose. I wonder if they'll be there.

Fine looking bottle.

I'm hoping soon to  have suffecient  proper nibs (from Flexible to stiff in F, M, B, and so on) to start with inks. I am a 5 ink noobie.
MB Sepia, Lamy Tuquiose, Pelikan Royal Blue and Brilliant black, and De Atramentia Bordauxrot (Bordaux red).

I live in Germany and will do the German Inks first. And I will do the cheaper basic inks of Pelikan and Lamy first.

There are six ink companies in Germany, and three have a large selection.

I must have some blue colorblindness as I have a real hard time distinguishing between the different shades of color. But if it is well behaved I might have to take a look once I go through the other blue bottles I have.

Thanks for the review!
