His Nibs.com update --
Camlin retractable
January 6th, 2009

Greetings all,

This first update of 2009 ushers in the
incredible disappearing/reappearing
nib....better known as the Camlin retractable
from India.

Speaking of retractable pens, it reminds me
that it's been a while since I've mentioned
the Monteverde Diva. So, let me mention the
Monteverde Diva!

We were hit pretty hard this holiday season
in the ink department, but just received a
large restocking order from Private Reserve.

On the blog...20 of the World's Most
Beautiful Libraries.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!

Camlin retractable fountain pens

The Camlin retractable fountain pen from
India is a conversation starter the moment
you take it out in public. The fun starts
when you remove the cap to
reveal....well....nothing! Not
unlike the
Monteverde DIVA in design, it's a bit more
conventional in it's appearance.

It's a slightly undersized pen that travels
easily in pocket, purse or organizer,
measuring 5" capped, 3-1/4" retracted, 4-1/2"
with nib extended, and a full 5-3/8" with the
cap posted.

The design of the pen hearkens back to the
turn of the last century, when safety
fountain pens with retractable nibs were all
the rage. Actual safety pens filled and
sealed quite differently, but the retracting
nib remains in the Camlin.

Monteverde DIVA

As the His Nibs.com website continues to
expand over the years, it becomes easier and
easier to lose track of pen models that
aren't currently on the homepage. So, it
behooves me to reintroduce older
models from time to time. As we're featuring
a new retractable pen in the Camlin, what
better time to remind people of a retractable
pen that's been around for quite some time now.

From Monteverde's sales literature: "A truly
creative design, the "Lipstick pen",
available as both a fountain pen and
ballpoint, is the World's most unique luxury
writing instrument. The cap is mounted on a
threaded ring and posts for a luxurious look
and feel. Diva's barrel turns with a
technologically advanced mechanism. This
advances the point with an extraordinary 2
stage, telescoping turn, just like the lipstick!"

Ink is here! Ink is here!

We just received a large restocking order of Private Reserve ink.

Remember that we now carry the new, larger
110ml (3.72oz) bottles as well.
