i don't have but one p45 right now and it's a standard with the black cabochon on the cap. after this one i be looking for a flighter (flat top, even if it's not vintage).
Awesome. A minty fresh 45 for $11 shipped is always a great deal.
Pound for pound the 45 is almost as tough as an esterbrook & even more so in the reliablility dept. They are a very easy pen to work on and only have, what 6 parts that will break down (10 or so if you count the cap componets).
I've always had a 45 or 3 in my collection. I like to get them in & practice my nib grinding on them. IMHO, these are one of the great under apprecieated pens in our hobby.
Nice score bud. Dennis

Vintage or modern 45's just kick booty. I think I like the domed 'jewel' on the modern cap a bit more than the vintage concave style.
10K, 14K, GP or steel I have yet to have a 45 that didn't write great. They are about one of if not the easiest pen to break down & clean, swap nibs or just to tinker around with.
It's a shame they discontinued production of these. The upside is the market is starting to flood with them & the price are dropping some.
