Hi, New member, just recently began collecting fountain pen. I want to dispel the myth that left handers can not use a fountain pen. I am eager learn about fountain pens. amzes me that you can take old pen and fill it and begin to write. My name is Brad, form Fort smith AR. I am also an avid birdwatcher and love photography and journaling.
Welcome to TFPC Brad. we're delighted to have you with us.
We'd all enjoy hearing about your collection, what you've tried so far, liked or didn't. What wpould you like to try out sometime? Do your interests lie in vintage or modern production pens.
I've known many leftie writers over the years. I don't think you should have too many problemsusing fountain pens.
"amzes me that you can take old pen and fill it and begin to write. " Just wait until you take on your first restoration. There is such a wonderful feeling of accomplishment in rescuing a vintage pen from oblivion.
Bird watching. Thats awesome man. I'd love to see some pics if you shoot them as well. We have a much neglected photography forum & could use some folks with experience to post over there as well.
So again, welcome ,read, question, post and enjoy.
Have fun! Dennis

i'm a man of few words, but i just realised that my signature reads "ciao for now", so my whole post read "welcome and ciao"... not too cordial, is it? ha-ha... so i had to add:
I collect both modern and vintage. On the modern side I like the Chinesse pens such as Duke and Hero. On the vintage side I am collecting Parker, Sheaffer, and Eversharp. I like to collect unique nibbed fountain pens. I like to learn on how to restore pens also. How hard is it to replcace a sac?
Cool. For years I was a vintage only guy. In the pasy couple I've slowly been warming up to a few moderns.
Unique nib's. Then you really need to look at the Wearever clear vue & the button filling deluxe models in the 3rd tier pens forum. Under Wearever school pens. I posted a pic of some as a response a day or 3 ago.
For repair advice, head over to the repair Q & A forum. Pen repairs are honestly easy, there are just a few steps/tricks to pick up first.
I'm also starting to do live video pen repairs in live.yahoo.com/dennislively I've only done a couple of broadcasts so far but I've had a lot of fun. There is a live link in the repair forum as well. There are a few random video rep[air clips in there now that I've shot for other folks in the past.
If you have any questions I'll be delighted to answer them over there.
Cheers, Dennis
